Thank you so much for a wonderful Y2 leavers assembly. All the hard work put in by the children and staff really paid off - we saw a fantastic show. I wish to thank everyone for making my son's time at Woodville Infants extremely positive and rewarding. Best wishes to all of you.

i must admit that i agree with the comments about the "voluntary" trip fees. it should definately be if you pay you go, if you don't then you don't like when i was at school. i paid in full and it's annoying that some don't. i would have to pay for school dinners because i work hard so i have to give sandwiches, maybe i shouldn't and i could feed my child free. sorry, off my soap box now!

Charges for school trips are requested on a voluntary basis as this is the schools charging policy and has been for many years. Generally all parents acknowledge that end of year trips are a treat for their child and happily pay the full amount requested. I will refer the comment made on this page to the governing body for full discussion when considering the charging policy for the coming year.

All of the staff agree with the children - the NED show was thoroughly enjoyable and inspirational and it is great to hear that so many children have been sharing their enjoyment with their families. I do agree that the yo-yo's were on the expensive side but there was no hard sell by the NED group or the school for children to buy one. Infact the children were told that they could bring a yo-yo in from home to play with in the playground in the days following the show - and many children did this. I will add your comments about the pricing of the yo-yo's on to the feedback sheet for the company as I am sure they will find it helpful.

My son loved the NED show last week and told me all about it. Just a shame the yo-yo's were so expensive as he won't stop asking for one and i am not paying £5 for one when they got a free basic one not that long ago. Other than that good feedback.

I was confussed about the recent newsletter regarding the school trips. I have paid the full amount on time in good faith and to learn that others can only give a small amount and still go is very un fair. We are all struggling with money ( me included) but if the parent does not pay surely the child does not go on the trip. this is how i have always known schools to do it. Why should some parents pay the full amount and others pay let's say half or not even that. I won't be giving the full amount in future then if this is clearly ok to do.

Disappointed that the NED yoyos were so expensive (which has caused upset in many households), meaning that many children have found the NED experience a negative one rather then the positive one it was promoting. In future could any such promotion include a low cost option such that all children could be a part of the experience - such as is offered at the book week.

Today I have put a notice on the newsletter asking parents/carers to avoid letting their children use the Trim Trail before and after school. This is because of the number of children and toddlers observed playing on the equipment this morning without supervision. In fact there were no parents to be seen as they were still standing on the playground whilst even very young children were climbing on the equipment. School is not responsible for childrens welfare on the equipment at these times and for that reason I am asking that the trim trail is not used. Thank you

I considered not publishing the comment below as I do not feel that a guestbook for our school website is the appropriate place for a parent of our school to make either a personal statement or complaint. Please can I urge the person who wrote the message to come and talk to me as there seems to be some misunderstandings. I am available most days or an appoinment can be made. Thank you.

Thank you for your comment about the Mother's Day Assembly. We were very proud of the children and it certainly seemed as if everyone enjoyed it.
